M. Shanmugam
Shan is an International Human Capability Development Facilitator and Trainer. Over the past
20 years, he has trained thousands of people from all walks of life from many different countries
in various aspects of Leadership and Team Development. His passion for training is evident in the
added insight that he shares with his participants drawn on his experience as a military officer
which involves hands-on leadership and teamwork weaved with the fabrics of trust
and respect.
His innovative, interactive and high impact approaches empower his participants to experience,
reflect and act for self and organizational improvements. Some of Shan's specialized programs are
Leadership Development, Team Development, Executive & Supervisory Development, Coaching, Emotional
Quotient (EQ),Talent Assesment Centre Technologies (TACT) and Trainers Tool Kit . He is
particularly skilled in developing customized program designs that ensures program content that
are matched with the human capability development needs of the client organizations.
Shan has held strategic and senior management position with a multi-national Training
Resource Company and coupled with his previous key position as a military officer, has given
him a unique perspective in harnessing a myriad of adult-centred action learning tools to develop
team skills. His language and communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia are equally
excellent. A much sought after speaker, he has addressed many local and international seminars
and conferences.
Shan holds a Masters degree in Human Resource Management from University of Canberra, Australia.
Additionally, he has several accreditations and certification from a number of prestigious local
and international institutions. Shan is a Certified Executive Coach by UMCCed; Certified Trainer
by the Malaysian Human Resource Development Council; Accredited Facilitator for Team Management
Systems of Australia; Certified Professional Marketer by Asia Pacific Marketing Association and
Certified EQ Trainer by 6 Seconds, USA. Shan currently is the Country Representative (Malaysia)
for International Association of Facilitators for the 2007-2009 term.
